Welcome to my Web Page. I hope you will take some time to browse
through its entirety. As you can see, I have ventured into Virtual
Reality (VR) in a serious way. In my Architecture practice I now
design everything using 3D
computer software; my imagination is unfettered by the old
tools of pencil, t-square, and triangle. My youthful fears about
the computer turning me into an automaton have been dispelled,
and I feel liberated by this wonderful new technology of the new
Millenium.
After in-depth work on the requirements of a project with my clients,
I conceive the building in my mind, and with key strokes and mouse-clicks
on the Macitosh, visualize the concept in Virtual Space. Then
client and architect walk into the new Architecture together.
I am always on the lookout for new clients, especially those who
have unique and interesting requirements. I am finding that the
computer is the best tool for creative new solutions. If, after
looking through these pages and the section, You
and Your Architect, you are interested in having me serve
you as an architect, please contact me at the address below or
via e-mail: archvr@cybermesa.com.
Since 1990, I have made it a hobby to collect archaeological data
on the ancient places of the Native
Americans, and to recreate them in VR. I am convinced that
these ancient Native Places offer profound advice to us moderns
living in the Americas. Just as the archaeological study of ancient
Greek and Roman ruins signaled the European Renaissance in the
Fifteen Century, I believe that an American Renaissance is in
progress, due in part to our increasing understanding of the Native
American architecture paradigm. How
this new understanding will inform modern architecture is an exciting
prospect, and I am sharing here what it has meant for me since
1987.
In this post-September 11th age, the use of fossil fuels
for energy will come into ever-wider scrutiny. Architecture and
the built environment account for about one third of our National
energy budget. The implementation of energy conserving and passive
solar energy techniques for the heating and cooling of our built
environment is consistent with Native American ways and can reduce
architectural dependence upon oil and natural gas. I have included
many passive solar projects
that span the period from 1973 to the present. Those of you who
are interested in Solar Architecture will find the Information
drawer a primer on the state-of-the-solar-art from the hey-days
of the 1970's. I have included this information for an age when
solar technology Knowledge has been forgotten or disregarded by
"The System". The Information Page also has some great
links, so please browse throught it.
The work you will see included in my pages, is currently being
exhibited at the VITUAL
REALITY ARCHITECTURE, International Biennial of Architecture,
(November, 1999 - February, 2000), at the Bienal Internacional
Sao Paolo, Brazil. This exhibition, is being coordinated by Emanuel Diman de Melo
Pimenta and ASA Art
and Technology, Lisbon and London, with support from the Fundacao
Bienal Sao Paulo. It is expected that the exhition will be attended
by more than 100,000 visitors. Mr. Holloway was invited to exhibit
his work as one of fifteen international architects in the virtual
reality architecture field. The Exhibit may be visited on the
Internet at: http://www.asa-art.com/bienal.htm
I hope this work on these pages will be seen and enjoyed by the
whole global village. It is a most exciting event in my life to
realize and connect with what Teilhard
de Chardin foresaw as the noosphere. I look forward
to communicating with you in this new way. There is truly something
new under the Sun!
Peace...Namaste!
