Passive Solar Condominiums in Traditional Native American
Taos Idiom
Taos, New Mexico
Eight passive solar condomium houses are arranged
along pedestrian alleys and small plazas.
Each unit has private exterior courtyards on the ground floor
and the two storey units have upper level roof decks.
The community of houses is designed in the Taos Pueblo
Native American idiom.
Parking is to the North of the housing group.
Interior spaces are designed for optimal natural light
and ventillation.
Xeriscape landscape reduces water consumption and
utilizes plant species native to Taos and the New Mexico high
chaparral.
