Caracol at Chichen Itza

Maya Civilization, dated from c. 906 C.E. during the Late Classic Period. Located in Chichen Itza, in the Yucatan Peninsula. Thought to be an astronomical observatory, marking cycles of Venus, Sun and Moon.

Elevation is c. 38 meters (126 feet) above sea level.
